Terms of Pardon

Reprinted from outline by the late Clarence Greenleaf of Grundy, VA.,
presented at Hillsboro Family Camp 1988.

There are more terms of pardon than are mentioned in any one verse,
but there never can be less?

  1. There are more terms of pardon than are mentioned in Acts 16:31, “Believe in the Lord Jesus, and you will be saved,” but there never can be less.
  2. There are more terms of pardon than are mentioned in Luke 13:3, “I tell you, no! But unless you repent, you too will all perish,” but there never can be less.
  3. There are more terms of pardon than are mentioned in Romans 10:13, “Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved,” but there never can be less.
  4. There are more terms of pardon than are mentioned in Acts 2:38, “Repent and be baptized, every one of you, in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins,” but there never can be less.
  • If the Bible says that we are saved “BY FAITH”, that is true, but we cannot be saved by less.
  • If the Bible says that we are saved “BY REPENTANCE”, that is true, but we cannot be saved by less.
  • If the Bible says that we are saved “BY CALLING UPON THE NAME OF THE LORD”, that is true, but we cannot be saved by less.
  • If the Bible says that we are saved “BY BAPTISM”, that is true, but we cannot be saved by less.
